Heatguard insulation coating is a high quality waterbased acrylic emulsion with suitable insulating extender pigment to provide a slight textured effect and causes light scattering and hence temperature reduction. The added aggregate transmit very little heat to the substrate which in turn lower the surface temperature.

APPLICATION DETAILS
Mixing: Always stir well with a flat paddle before use
Application Method: Brush or Roller or Airless Spray Gun
Thinning: Not recommended – Product is supplied ready for use
Cleaning: Clean equipment with water.
Application:
For Brush or Roller Application:
- Two full coats applied with a dry film thickness of ±65µ per coat is recommended with at least 6 hours drying time between coats – depending on air temperature and humidity.
For Airless Spray Gun Application:
- In exceptional cases, the addition of 5% water maximum can be added to dilute the paint
- Two full coats applied with a dry film thickness of ±65µ per coat is recommended with at least 6 hours drying time between coats – depending on air temperature and humidity.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Steel & Galvanised Structures
- Remove all rust with Clean and Protect, scrub and rinse thoroughly with water.
- Remove dust, oil, grease and other foreign materials with Degreaser
- Prime the surface with Roof Primer, and leave to dry for 4hours.
- Apply 2 coats of Heatguard and leave to dry for 4 hours between coats
- Do not expose painted surfaces to rainy conditions within 6hours after application
- Do not apply to surfaces with a temperature below 4°C
- Do not apply to wet or damp surfaces with a free moisture content exceeding 12%
Concrete Surfaces New
- Remove dust, oil, grease and other foreign materials with Degreaser
- If friable or powdery, seal with bonding liquid
- Moisture content of the new plaster must be less than 12%
- Apply 1 coat of primer and leave to dry
- Apply 2 coats of Heatguard and leave to dry for 4 hours between coats
- Do not expose painted surfaces to rainy conditions within 6hours after application
- Do not apply to surfaces with a temperature below 4°C
- Do not apply to wet or damp surfaces with a free moisture content exceeding 12%
Previously Painted Surfaces
- Make sure old paint coatings are firm and solid
- Remove all loose, flaking and bubbling paint with Paint Scraper or brush.
- Remove dust, oil, grease and other foreign materials with Degreaser
- Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry
- If then powdery or friable, seal with bonding liquid or plaster primer
- Apply 1 coat of primer and leave to dry
- Apply 2 coats of Heatguard and leave to dry for 4 hours between coats
- Do not apply to surfaces with a temperature below 4°C
- Do not apply to wet or damp surfaces with a free moisture content exceeding 12%
